The Scent of Emotions – Illustrations for Glamour Magazine

Along with packaging, editorial illustrations are my favorite. They are always a challenge: tight timings, unusual formats, and often force you to squeeze your mind in search of new and ingenious ideas.

I’m excited to work with magazines, and even more so if they are the ones that I follow month after month. This is the case of Glamour.

When the editor-in-chief contacted me and told me about the article they wanted me to illustrate, I did not hesitate for a second (even I was overwhelmed working in two big projects).

I didn’t have much space to imagine this time; the briefing was very specific: 2 illustrations, a couple of jeweled and fancy hands prepared to hold photographed perfumes and the
bust of a woman with the brain exposed (the reference was the classic anatomical illustration of the s.XIX), with certain flowers and fruits around it evoking various aromas. But it could not be dark or dismal, but sweet, springy and chic… something fresh, casual and pretty.

I think the difficulty of giving a beautiful touch to something that is usually unpleasant was what I liked the most (I never say no to a challenge!).

So, here it is the final art and the published article in Glamour Magazine (Spain, April 2017 issue). Enjoy!

Interview for La Moda en las Calles

Recently, I had the great pleasure of being interviewed by the Spanish Fashion Magazine La Moda en las calles. A really lovely interview focused on my work process, my lifestyle as illustrator and a lot of fun facts (only in Spanish this time).

Find this issue in newsstands this September (or take a look at the online version, pages 126-127).
Thanks a lot for this amazing double page!

So You Want to Be a Fashion Illustrator? (Tuts+)

So You Want to Be a Fashion Illustrator?

Mary Winkler from Tuts+ has recently interviewed nearly a dozen of illustrators -including me- about our roles and work within the world of fashion illustration. In this article she explores our histories in the way of project experience, what artists need to know to create fashion illustrations, what makes good fashion illustrations, and more!

I receive a lot of emails and questions on social networks from people asking me how to be a Fashion Illustrator. If you’re a bit lost or you are just curious, consider this article a great mini guide to working as a fashion illustrator ;).
