The Scent of Emotions – Illustrations for Glamour Magazine

 

Along with packaging, editorial illustrations are my favorite. They are always a challenge: tight timings, unusual formats, and often force you to squeeze your mind in search of new and ingenious ideas.

I’m excited to work with magazines, and even more so if they are the ones that I follow month after month. This is the case of Glamour.

When the editor-in-chief contacted me and told me about the article they wanted me to illustrate, I did not hesitate for a second (even I was overwhelmed working in two big projects).

I didn’t have much space to imagine this time; the briefing was very specific: 2 illustrations, a couple of jeweled and fancy hands prepared to hold photographed perfumes and the
bust of a woman with the brain exposed (the reference was the classic anatomical illustration of the s.XIX), with certain flowers and fruits around it evoking various aromas. But it could not be dark or dismal, but sweet, springy and chic… something fresh, casual and pretty.

I think the difficulty of giving a beautiful touch to something that is usually unpleasant was what I liked the most (I never say no to a challenge!).

So, here it is the final art and the published article in Glamour Magazine (Spain, April 2017 issue). Enjoy!

Journée de la Muse (Maison Close) I

A sexy new work for luxe French lingerie label Maison Close!

Maison Close is organizing on April 22nd an unique event, their first Journée de la Muse (litterally: The Day of the Muse), which will be a day dedicated to celebrating women and femininity. I absolutely loved working on this image – after all, what can be better than a gorgeous luxury lingerie set and a touch of rich red on the lips? Not to mention my soft spot for all things french (and all things vintage!).
